I Killed The Prom Queen – Music For The Recently Deceased.

There’s nothing better then curing a Sunday afternoon hang over with a nice heaping dose of metal. Or so I would think… Turns out, that’s not a very wise decision on my part. Actually it was probably the worst decision I could ever make, brutal break down, grunts and growls aren’t something used to reduce a headache. But, I pulled through and took a good long listen to I Killed the Prom Queen’s final album, Music for the Recently Deceased.

So, I’ve listened to this CD a few times now, and I really don’t know how to take it. I mean, it’s a good CD. But, I don’t know if it’s my bag of nails. They have some great fucking break downs and good vocals (minus the singing). But, the CD it’s self hasn’t “stuck” to me. There’s a few good songs, i.e. Say Goodbye and The Deepest Sleep. The other 9 tracks, eh. Maybe that’s why one of the members left and joined Bleeding Through.

If you are looking for a good metal band to get you through the day I would suggest this. It has some good tracks, but I personally wouldn’t come back and take a listen. Ok, maybe I would. There’s something about it, that, I just can’t seem to spit out. I know it could have used a little more progressive breakdowns, and a few cooler guitar riffs. I’d say give the CD a listen, not just once, but give it a good hard listen for the next 3 days. Then come back and tell me what you think. You won’t be dissapointed, if you are, then I’ll sleep with you mother.
